Privacy Policy of NomadWay OÜ

Welcome to the NomadWay Privacy Policy ("Policy")! This explains how we collect, store, protect, and share your information, and with whom we share it. We suggest you read this in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions of Use.

While you're enjoying the NomadWay mobile application (including the desktop version) ("App"), our websites and microsites (such as www.nomadway.app), or using our digital products and services (together, referred to in this Privacy Policy as our "Services"), we collect some information about you. In addition, you may choose to use the Services to share information with other users. We may also need to share your information sometimes.

The Services are global, and your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country you live in. This Policy explains how we protect your personal data when we transfer it overseas, so please read very carefully!

Who we are

The Services are operated by NomadWay OÜ (also referred to in this policy as "we" or "us"), which is the controller of personal information collected and processed through the NomadWay App and Services.

1. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

Registration Information

When you download the App and create an account ("Account"), we may collect certain information ("Registration Information") about you, such as:

  • Name
  • Username
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Photographs
  • Location
  • Profile description

This information is anonymized during processing to protect your privacy. Once you register, you will be able to review and change this information at any time by logging in to NomadWay (other than your date of birth). It is your responsibility to ensure that your account details are kept up to date.

Profile Information

We recommend and encourage you to think carefully about the information you disclose about yourself. We also do not recommend that you put email addresses, URLs, instant messaging details, phone numbers, full names or addresses, credit card details, national identity numbers, drivers' licence details and other sensitive information on your profile which is open to abuse and misuse.

Profile Approval

After an account has been created, we review new profiles before approving them. This is to ensure that the profile aligns with our community of digital nomads and remote workers. Profiles may not be approved if:

  • The photo doesn't appear to represent a real person
  • There is no description
  • The description doesn't respect our terms of use
  • The profile has no relation to the digital nomad or remote work sector

Geolocation Information

If you have given NomadWay access to your location in your device settings, we will collect information about your longitude and latitude to offer certain features to you. This information is anonymized and helps us identify your general location.

In accordance with GDPR and other applicable data privacy laws, we will explicitly ask for your permission before accessing your location data. You have the right to refuse or withdraw this permission at any time.

You can choose not to provide location information. In this case, you will need to manually select your location from a list of cities or hubs available in the app.

Device Information

We may collect information about your device when you use the App including the unique device identifier, device model, operating system, and other information. This information is anonymized during processing.

Links

We may keep track of how you interact with links available on NomadWay by redirecting clicks or through other means. We may share aggregate, anonymized click statistics such as how many times a particular link was clicked on.

2. USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Our main goal is to provide and improve our Services. We use your anonymized Registration Information and other information to:

  • Provide users with our Services and features
  • Contact users with information about our Services
  • Personalise the Services and the content we deliver
  • Conduct research and analytics about how users access and use our Services
  • Diagnose or fix technology problems
  • Automatically update the NomadWay application on your device
  • Verify accounts and activity, and to promote safety and security on and off our Services

3. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

Service Providers and Other Partners

We work with third-party service providers to help us operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services. It's important to note that all data shared with these service providers is anonymized by design before any sharing occurs.

  • We use Sentry for monitoring and fixing potential technical issues.
  • We use Mixpanel for analytics to understand how our Services are used.

When we share information with third-party service providers in this capacity, we only provide anonymized data that cannot be linked to individual users.

Legal Requests and Preventing Harm

We may access, preserve and share your anonymized information in response to a legal request if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so.

New Owner

If the ownership or control of all or part of our Services or their assets changes, we may transfer your anonymized information to the new owner.

4. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

When you delete your Account, we immediately delete your personal information from our systems. Any retained data is fully anonymized and cannot be linked back to you.

5. USERS' RIGHTS

Privacy laws applicable in your country may give you the following rights:

  • Right to be informed: what personal data an organisation is processing and why
  • Right of access: you can request a copy of your data
  • Right of rectification: if the data held is inaccurate, you have the right to have it corrected
  • Right to erasure: you have the right to have your data deleted in certain circumstances
  • Right to restrict processing: in limited circumstances, you have the right to request that processing is stopped but the data retained
  • Right to data portability: you can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable form that can be transferred to another provider

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Services are not intended for and may not be used by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18 or market to children under 18.

7. SECURITY

NomadWay uses Google Cloud Platform for hosting and data storage. These measures are designed to protect your information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration.

8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
